Farmers Markets Here We Come!

On Monday we had a friendly inspection by Susan from the State of California Department of Food and Agriculture Fruit and Vegetable Quality Control. Nope, we're not selling fruits and veggies. In order to sell our succulents at farmers markets in Marin County we were required to become certified. It wasn't scary or complicated whatsoever. After all, our succulent establishment occupies just 21 square feet of real estate.

We have several plants ready to go to new homes, and several more to be artfully potted. We have some busy work to do before we're ready to go all in. Look for us in the next few weeks at the Marinwood market and perhaps the Fairfax market. We will keep you posted on Facebook at www.facebook.com/heathergraefstudio, so go and Like our page if you haven't done that already.

Over Labor Day Weekend you can find us at the Seahorse Art Show in Sausalito selling succulents and a variety of arts and crafts! Tisha will have her soft sculpture animals, and I will have some of my bags and accessories. We hope a few or our Marin Handmade members will join the show, but whether or not, there are over 30 artists and music to entertain.

New Beginnings

Over the past few months there have been some changes around here. One major event was renting a studio that I share with one of my artisan collective colleagues. The other event is that the "At Home DIY" blog has changed its name to "Maker Studio." In light of what we're creating here in the studio and what we're planning, the name change makes more sense. We will continue to post fun DIY tutorials, some ours and some by others. Thanks for following the blog so far, I know it has bee lacking lately, but perhaps this shall pass. Here's to new beginnings.
