Heather Graef

Designer Me would say "I swear by the Mac, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and my trusty office chair." Since the early 90's my career has been in graphic design. I have designed corporate identity, environmental, and interpretive graphics for world class visitor centers, and custom graphic design projects for smaller, local businesses and non-profit organizations. 

Crafty Me would say "My favorite tools and materials are fabric, sewing machines, cookware, hammers, saws, paint, sandpaper, and glue." From transforming a ramshackle houseboat into my cozy dwelling, to building furniture from old Mexican doors, to experimenting in the kitchen, I love the creative process of making something out of nothing. In 2008 I took up sewing, I created a collection of bags & accessories, sold locally and on Etsy.com (see my website here). I am currently working on home accessories designs, and more to come.

Starting @HOME DIY is my way of sharing some of my favorite modern design and craft concepts with you, as do-it-yourself projects. My goal is to offer budget friendly tutorials and ideas that give you the opportunity to create trend-setting ideas with your own twist.
